Parliament Adopted Amendments to the Law of Georgia on Design

At a plenary session, the Parliament of Georgia unanimously adopted, at III reading, the draft Law of Georgia “On Design” with 83 votes in favor.
The draft law establishes the legal grounds, conditions, and procedural rules for the restoration of the right of priority.
Under the amendments, the list of services for which statutory fees are payable will be expanded. In particular, the law will be supplemented with fees established for the restoration of the right of priority and for the restoration of the rights of a design holder.
In addition, the law introduces a provision regulating issues related to the restoration of a design holder’s rights in cases where a prescribed deadline has not been met.
