Parliament Supported the Establishment of the Egrisi National Park

The Parliament of Georgia has approved the establishment of the Egrisi National Park.
At the plenary session, the draft law “On the Establishment and Management of the Egrisi National Park” was presented at its III reading by Zurab Ezugbaia, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
According to the draft law, an area of 37,074 hectares located within the administrative boundaries of the municipalities of Tsalenjikha, Chkhorotsku, and Martvili will be granted the status of a national park, creating a new protected area — the Egrisi National Park.
The draft law regulates matters related to the functional and spatial planning of the park’s territory, as well as issues concerning its state administration and management.
