Procedural Issues Committee Reviewed Responses to Parliamentary Questions

The Procedural Issues Committee reviewed the issue of responses to questions submitted by Members of Parliament, covering the period from 1 March to 31 May 2026.

According to the Chair of the Procedural Issues Committee, Davit Matikashvili, the review revealed that during the reporting period, questions were submitted by 50 Members of Parliament, and responses were provided to 38 of those questions (76%).

He noted that 52% of the questions were addressed to the Government, 32% to municipalities, and 16% to other institutions.

According to the Committee Chair, responses were provided within the deadline established by the Parliamentary Rules of Procedure in 22 cases, while in 16 cases the deadline was exceeded.

As Davit Matikashvili further stated, in 19 out of the 38 cases where responses were provided, the reply to the Member of Parliament’s question was signed by an unauthorized person.

“Pursuant to Paragraph 8 of Article 148 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament, the Procedural Issues Committee will submit this information to the Parliamentary Bureau and ensure its publication on the Parliament’s website. The Committee will also continue examining data related to responses to Members of Parliament’s questions”, - the Committee Chair stated.
