H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia held a meeting with the Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Assembly of Representatives) of Tajikistan, Fayzali Idizoda.

Shalva Papuashvili extended his congratulations to his counterpart on the triumph in the Parliamentary elections and the subsequent election as Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives.

The parties emphasized the cordial relations between Georgia and Tajikistan and underscored that the two countries commemorated the 30th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2024, which serves as an effective avenue for strengthening parliamentary ties.

The formation of Friendship Groups in the two Parliaments was highlighted as a priority for the immediate future. The commitment to establishing the links between the Committees was also expressed.

Fayzali Idizoda invited Shalva Papuashvili to Tajikistan.

The meeting was held within the framework of the 150th IPU Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
