Joint meeting of Shalva Papuashvili with the Speakers of the Chambers of the Parliament of Belgium

H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia held a meeting with Peter De Roover, the President of the House of Representatives, and Vincent Blondel, the President of the Senate.
The parties overviewed the Georgia-Belgium friendly ties based on the common European values.
The discourse included the regional security concerns and the EU and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia.
According to Shalva Papuashvili, Georgia remains committed to fulfilling the obligations outlined in the Association Agreement, with the objective of progressively aligning its nation with the European Union. In this context, he emphasized the importance of sharing the Belgian experience as a valuable reference point.
He also informed his Belgian counterparts about the developments in Georgia, the post-election political milieu and the parliamentary agenda.
The Belgian politicians affirmed their unwavering support for the territorial integrity and European future of Georgia.
The meeting was held within the framework of the 150th IPU Assembly in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The Parliamentary Delegation of Georgia, headed by the Speaker, is composed of: Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, and Maia Bitadze, the Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee.
