By the decision of the Bureau, the discussion of new legislative initiatives will begin in parliamentary committees, including amendments to the Law on Grants.
According to the draft law, funds issued by accredited diplomatic missions, consular offices, and representations of international organizations in Georgia shall not be considered as grants if such funds are intended or may be used for activities deriving from the political or public interests, approaches, or relations of a foreign government or a foreign political party.
By the decision of the Bureau, the draft law will be considered under an expedited procedure.
Parliament will also consider, under an expedited procedure, amendments to the Law on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons.
According to the draft law, a new category of ordinary visa — C5 — is introduced.
This category of multiple-entry short-term visa will be issued with a validity period of 5 years and a permitted stay of up to 1 year in Georgia.
The C5 category visa will be issued to a person entering Georgia for short-term purposes, including tourism, who is also allowed to carry out activities solely for the benefit of a non-resident, provided that such activities are related to operations conducted by the non-resident outside Georgia. This category of visa will also be issued to the person’s spouse and minor child/children.
