The members of the political group People’s Power were presented with the 2024 State Budget Execution Report by First Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze.
According to G. Kakauridze, strong economic growth during the second half of the year allowed for adjustments to the state budget.
"Last year, we initially planned the budget based on a forecast of 5.2% real economic growth. However, actual economic growth significantly exceeded that projection, with the final growth forecast reaching 9%, instead of the planned 5.2%. Tax revenues also increased, amounting to GEL 23.26 billion, while the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was set at GEL 90.9 billion. The high rate of economic growth allowed us to amend the budget in the second half of the year. We increased the budget volume by approximately GEL 900 million, bringing the total state budget to GEL 26 billion", - G. Kakauridze stated.
Eka Sepashvili assessed the 2024 State Budget Execution Report positively.
"It is worth noting that over the past year, high economic growth was recorded and stable macroeconomic indicators were maintained. As a result of stronger-than-planned economic growth, an additional approximately GEL 1 billion was accumulated in the budget, enabling us to finance a range of priority areas", - E. Sepashvili remarked.
