
The Chair of the Agriculture Committee, Gela Samkharauli, held a working meeting regarding the proposed amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Vine and Wine.”
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Zurab Ezugbaia, and the Chairperson of the LEPL National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla.
According to Gela Samkharauli, efforts have been ongoing for years to raise awareness of and promote Georgian wine. The initiated legislative amendments will further contribute to the development of the sector.
“It is important that we continuously introduce new approaches in the field of viticulture and winemaking and fully share the practices of leading European countries in this area. These amendments will ensure the improvement of the quality of Georgian wine and increase its competitiveness on the international market,” - he stated.
