Irakli Beraia: The Russian occupation and the artificial barriers that have been erected are temporary and will undoubtedly come to an end

The Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, members of the Committee, and the Parliamentary Majority visited the occupation line in the villages of Perevi and Kardzmani.

"The members of the Parliamentary Majority undertook an inspection of the illicit infrastructure constructed by the Russian occupation forces. The Russian occupation of our country remains the most significant threat and a considerable challenge to the international order based on the rule of law. Currently, the front line of European security is located along the occupation line. To achieve de-occupation, the international community must intensify pressure on the aggressor state to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and comply with international law. The only viable path to ending the occupation is to maintain peace and stability, pursue a policy of peace with all its facets, continue Georgia's development, and integrate into NATO and the European Union.

The Russian occupation and the artificial barriers that have been erected are temporary and will undoubtedly come to an end. It is worth noting the invaluable work carried out by the Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in ensuring security on the occupation line and in its surrounding areas”, - Irakli Beraia stated.

Members of the parliamentary majority: Aleksandre Tabatadze, Levan Karumidze, Greta Tsitsava, Tengiz Sharmanashvili, and Giorgi Kakhiani were on the occupation line, too.
