Zaza Lominadze Met with the Mongolian Delegation

The Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Zaza Lominadze, together with his First Deputy, Vladimir Kakhadze, met with representatives of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.

The purpose of the Mongolian delegation’s visit was to share Georgia’s successful experience regarding the Law “On Tobacco Control”.

According to Zaza Lominadze, the State Great Khural of Mongolia is currently working on this law, which is expected to be adopted during the parliament’s spring session.

“The Parliament of Georgia adopted the Law ‘On Tobacco Control’ in 2018, and it stands out for its high level of enforcement. The World Health Organization recommended that Mongolia visit Georgia and share our experience. As noted during the meeting, they have already done considerable work in this direction. For the further refinement and implementation of the law, they were interested in the experience of both parliamentary and governmental institutions, as well as other organizations—how to act and what aspects to focus on. Members of the Mongolian delegation expressed their gratitude for the recommendations we shared regarding the enforcement of tobacco control”, - Zaza Lominadze stated after the meeting.
