Within the framework of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Interim Commission on Women and Children held a meeting in the Tbilisi Classical Gymnasium.

The campaign included training for children on ‘Cyberbullying and violence in online spaces’ with particular emphasis on violence against women and children.

“We aim to raise awareness among young people about violence in the digital space. They are the most active users of the online world and, consequently, the most vulnerable to various forms of online pressure and abuse. Educating, informing, and empowering young people is an essential step toward creating a safe digital environment”, - stated Rima Beradze, a member of the Commission.

During the training, moderated by representatives of the Human Rights Protection Department of the Interior Ministry, young participants were introduced to the rules of safe online communication and received advice on how to protect themselves from digital violence.

“Young people learned about the different forms of cybercrime in the online space. They received information on how to safeguard themselves in the digital environment and who to contact in cases of bullying, coercion, or blackmail. Meetings of this kind will continue in the future”, - stated Vladimir Bozhadze, a member of the Commission.
