Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze, and First Deputy Chair of the Defence and Security Committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili, participated in an event to establish an olive grove on the grounds of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi.

The event, dedicated to the memory of Ilia II, was organized on the initiative of the Patriarchate of Georgia’s “Greening Georgia” Foundation and with the blessing of Shio III, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia.

The olive grove planting ceremony was also attended by the Metropolitan of Chiatura and Sachkhere, Daniel (Datuashvili) and athletes.
