Mariam Jashi: we are glad of the Agreement achieved in the Free Trade sphere and the significantly increased economic and cultural relations with China

The Chair of the Faction “Independent MPs”, Mariam Jashi participated in the Awarding Ceremony “China Expert 2019” of Georgia-China Media Platform.

She addressed the attendees speaking about enhancement of Georgia-China trade-economic relations and restoration of the “Silk Road” project.

“Let me assure you that the Parliament of Georgia, regardless of the political affiliation of the Members of Parliament, attaches special attention to Georgia-China Relations. We hail and are glad of the Agreement achieved in the Free Trade sphere and the significantly increased economic and cultural relations with China. Our countries enjoy the greatest potential for enhancement of bilateral relations and our Faction is committed to contributing to these relations. As to the platform, I believe the “Sinomedia” highly contributes to the facilitation of cultural relations between Georgia and China. I would like to congratulate you, the competitors and especially the winners and thank you for your significant merit to cooperation with the strategic partner for Georgia”, - she noted.

She thanked the Professor of Chinese culture, Director of Confucius Institute, Marine Jibladze for facilitating building the bridge in cultural and educational relations of the two countries.

The Georgian citizen winning the online competition was awarded the trip to China.

The competitors were Georgian citizens of 18-60 years old. The online test concluded 70 questions with four possible answers. The test has been held in Georgian, which means that the Chinese language was not mandatory. The special informative articles have been issued about China and uploaded on www.sinomedia.ge, on section China Expert 2019 authored by young sinologists: Irakli Korkia, Teona Gelashvili, Shalva Chikhladze, Otar Chiladze, Tamar Kvlividze and Nino Margania. The Articles have been divided into the categories: economy, history, culture, society, technologies, travel and China-Georgia relations, however, 80% of the questions have been used in the test.
