
The First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Mariam Lashkhi held a meeting with the Staff Director of the Subcommittee on the Department of State and Foreign Operations at U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations, Alex Carnes and deliberated on the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission.
Special emphasis was placed on the Georgia-USA trade relations. According to M. Lashkhi, the US partners affirmed intact support of the economic aspirations of Georgia.
“At the meeting, we discussed the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission and respective activities; we dwelt on the economic diplomacy and the necessities of free sector trade. We overviewed the security challenges in the region and underlined the role of Georgia in ensuring peace and security”, - M. Lashkhi stated.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the US Senate and the Department of State, as well as the US Embassy to Georgia.
