Nikoloz Samkharadze Met with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan
The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, met with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova.

The parties discussed bilateral relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and issues related to their strategic partnership. Particular emphasis was placed on the excellent political relations between the two countries and the steadily growing dynamics of cooperation at the parliamentary level.

During the meeting, the importance of unity in an international environment marked by security challenges was underscored.

One of the key topics of discussion was cooperation between parliamentary delegations within international organizations, as well as the significance of the trilateral format of the Foreign Relations Committees of the parliaments of Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.

The discussion with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis also covered the security environment in the South Caucasus, the importance of the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process, and its impact on the economic development of the countries of the region.

The delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia is on an official visit to Baku, where the annual trilateral meeting of the Foreign Relations Committees of Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan will be held.

The delegation is headed by Nikoloz Samkharadze.

The delegation includes: First Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee Irakli Shatakishvili; Member of the Foreign Relations Committee and Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee Irakli Kadagishvili; and Member of the Foreign Relations Committee Davit Dolidze.
