Under the leadership of Nikoloz Samkharadze, the delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee met with the President of the Joint Commission on National Security of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate of Spain

Under the leadership of Nikoloz Samkharadze, the delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee met with Edurne Uriarte Bengoechea, President of the Joint Commission on National Security of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate of Spain.

During the meeting, the parties discussed relations between Georgia and Spain, the cooperation agenda, and prospects for future relations.

Nikoloz Samkharadze and members of the delegation spoke about the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and the threats coming from the Russian Federation. They thanked the Spanish side for its support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

One of the topics of discussion was security challenges, ongoing wars, and their impact on the global security environment.

The Spanish side provided the Georgian delegation with information on contemporary security challenges, including issues related to migration, cybersecurity, and energy security.

The meeting emphasized the importance of sharing experience in these fields and further deepening bilateral cooperation.

The delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee is led by the Committee Chair, Nikoloz Samkharadze.

The delegation includes the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Levan Makhashvili, and the Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze.

The Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Aleksandre Chkuaseli, also participated in the meeting.
