
The Parliament has reviewed the draft amendments to the Air Code in I reading. The issue was presented at the session by Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
According to her explanation, the adoption of the draft law will refine the inspection process, significantly improving flight safety.
According to the draft law, a flight safety inspector will be authorized to check the alcohol intoxication levels of aircraft crew members.
Additionally, the law will include several editorial changes, ensuring the removal or amendment of outdated provisions to adapt the code to modern requirements.
The term "ultralight aircraft" will be revised and redefined as "ultralight aerial vehicle”. Moreover, special uniforms for the crew and technical staff will be directly determined by the airline or company.
The Parliament supported the amendments with 75 votes in favor.
