
The Parliament is adopting the decision on the set-up of the Interim Think-Tank Commission on the Food, Medicines and Fuel Pricing Structures; the respective draft resolution was submitted to the Bureau today.
As the Speaker of the Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili announced, the draft resolution will be adopted at the plenary session tomorrow.
“The Procedural Issues Committee, at the sitting, will determine the number of the Commission members, and the quotas of the Factions and Political Groups thereto. The Factions and Political Groups shall, through February 4, submit the list of their members to the Commission for the consideration by the Bureau. The Commission assumes office on Thursday”, - he elucidated.
The Commission, within its competence, is to transparently inquire and scrutinise the mechanisms for the formation of the food, medicines and fuel prices. It shall develop a respective opinion and recommendations. The authority of the Commission is determined by a three-month term. The draft resolution is initiated and authored by the Georgian Dream faction.
