The members of the Reforms Group met with representatives of the OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The MPs informed the guests about the draft amendments to the Election Code prepared by the opposition and emphasized the importance of implementing the recommendations of the OSCE/ODIHR and the European Union.
According to Paata Manjgaladze, the members of the political group emphasized the importance of granting Georgia the status of a candidate for EU membership and expressed their commitment to supporting all the initiatives related to the implementation of the recommendations.
"The issues with the election process were the subject of questions from the guests. Following Charles Michel's document, "Georgian Dream" changed the Election Code in such a way that it now allows them to have a permanent acting chairperson of the Central Election Commission. The guests have seen our package of improvements, which corrects this issue. We made it clear that Georgia must unquestionably be given candidate status”, - Paata Manjgaladze noted.
