The Interim Commission on Women and Children held an offsite meeting in Rustavi

The Interim Commission on Women and Children held an offsite meeting in Rustavi within the framework of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

As part of the event, school students participated in a training session on the topic “Cyberbullying and Online Violence.” Special emphasis was placed on violence against women and children.

During the training, led by representatives of the Human Rights Protection Department of the Interior Ministry, young participants received information about various forms of violence and the legal mechanisms for combating violence against women and domestic violence.

“Georgia is joining the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Training sessions are being held both in the capital and in the regions to raise awareness. It is important to understand that violence manifests in many forms, and online violence is particularly acute. I hope that through our collective efforts—by the executive branch, the legislative body, and through increased civic awareness—we will be able to minimize cases of violence,” - stated Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Commission.

The event was attended by Nino Latsabidze, Mayor of Rustavi Municipality.
