Officials of the State Security Service Delivered Briefing at the Meeting of the Parliament’s Trust Group

At the meeting, the Parliament’s Trust Group heard information from the Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Aleksandre Maisuradze, and the Head of its subordinate institution — the Georgian Intelligence Agency, Mikheil Dzagnidze.

During the meeting, participants discussed the ongoing developments in the Middle East and considered the possible risks and challenges that the South Caucasus region may face.

It was also noted that, amid changes in the regional security environment, Georgia’s security structures continue to monitor the situation closely and maintain close cooperation with the relevant agencies of partner countries on this issue.

As stated by the Chair of the Trust Group, Aleksandre Tabatadze, all divisions of the State Security Service, including foreign intelligence, are working professionally and ensuring the protection of the country’s national interests.

According to him, Georgian special services are actively and in a coordinated manner cooperating with the relevant agencies of countries in the South Caucasus — Azerbaijan and Armenia — as well as with other states in the region.

The meeting was attended by members of the Trust Group — Chair of the Legal Affairs Committee, Archil Gorduladze and First Deputy Chair of the Defence and Security Committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili.
