
“The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, will address Parliament with his annual report on the most important issues facing the country on 17 February”, - the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, announced at today’s meeting of the Bureau.
According to him, under the Rules of Procedure of Parliament and in accordance with the Constitution of Georgia, Parliament hears the President’s annual report on the most important issues of the country on the day of the first plenary sitting of the Spring Session. However, the date may be changed by agreement with the Speaker of Parliament.
“We held consultations on this matter and agreed that the President’s annual report will take place on 17 February. In making this decision, we took into account the fact that next week the Prime Minister has a planned visit abroad, and it is important that the Government and the Prime Minister be present during the President’s annual address,” - the Speaker of Parliament stated.
