The Procedural Issues Committee considered the issue of early termination of the authority of the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Mamuka Mdinaradze.

As noted by the Committee Chair, Davit Matikashvili, the Committee, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, verified the authenticity of the resignation statement submitted by Mr. Mdinaradze to the Speaker of the Parliament on April 22, 2026.

“The Committee considers that, in accordance with subparagraph ‘f’ of paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of Article 10 of the Law on the State Security Service of Georgia, as well as paragraph 3 of Article 9 and paragraph 4 of Article 212 of the Rules of Procedure, the powers of the Head of the State Security Service, Mamuka Mdinaradze, should be terminated ahead of schedule”, - stated Davit Matikashvili.
