The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, together with Members of Parliament, visited the Poka St. Nino Convent as part of events marking the 1,700th anniversary of the Christianization of Georgia.

“Poka St. Nino Convent holds a special place in the spiritual history of our country. It is associated with Saint Nino’s arrival in Georgia and with the path that transformed Georgia into a Christian state. Even after 1,700 years, the Christian faith, traditions, and values remain an important pillar of our national identity and statehood. Commemorating this historic date once again reminds us of the spiritual and cultural heritage that unites and strengthens us”, - Shalva Papuashvili stated.

During the visit, the Speaker of Parliament and the Members of Parliament toured the Convent of St. Nino in Poka.
