At a meeting with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Mr. Alain Berset, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili presented the details of the Parliamentary Elections 2024 and the subsequent election results.

Mr. Papuashvili also informed Mr. Berset about the ongoing protest rallies in Georgia and provided a chronology of the violent protests.

The Speaker emphasized the importance of an adequate assessment of the developments in Georgia by the international community.

The parties underscored the significance of the engagement of the opposition in parliamentary activities as an integral part of democratic processes. They expressed their commitment to further cooperating on the basis of an open dialogue.

The Resident Representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe, Tamar Taliashvili; the Vice-Speaker, Tea Tsulukiani; the Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to PACE, Givi Mikanadze; and the member of the Delegation, Eka Sepashvili also attended the meeting.
