Shalva Papuashvili Met the PABSEC Secretary General

The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the PABSEC Secretary General, Asaf Hajiyev.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Georgian delegation to PABSEC has consistently made a significant contribution to the organization’s activities and, as the current presiding country of PABSEC, continues to approach this responsibility with due diligence and commitment.

The parties discussed details related to the upcoming PABSEC General Assembly scheduled to be held in Tbilisi. It was highlighted that the theme of the General Assembly will focus on artificial intelligence and regional cooperation—issues of considerable importance for both member and partner countries.

The Georgian side’s initiative to hold a joint session between the ASEAN and PABSEC, in parallel with the General Assembly, was also emphasized. This initiative is currently in the process of implementation.

Shalva Papuashvili stated that, in his capacity as President of PABSEC, he will actively participate in various international events.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Georgian Parliamentary Delegation to PABSEC, Irakli Mezurnishvili.
