The Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili paid tribute to the National Hero of Georgia, the former Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Zhiuli Shartava.

The sepulcher of the National Hero was also visited by: MPs, the Minister of Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani; the Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia AR, Levan Mgaloblishvili  and the members of the Government and Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic.

Father Levan Janashia held a memorial service for the National Hero, Zhiuli Shartava, who was tragically shot on the day of the fall of Sokhumi.

The service was attended by the family members of Zhiuli Shartava. Zhiuli Shartava, along with other members of the Government of Abkhazia AR, were executed by shooting by the separatists on September 27, 1993, the day when Sokhumi fell.
