
The Advisory Council set up at the Sports Committee held a summary sitting and heard the report on the activity of the Council, introduced by the Council member, Maia Azarashvili.
According to her, the Council members, upon the moment of the establishment of the Council, have been taking an active part in the activity of the Committee and rendering valuable consultations in the lawmaking process.
“As a result of the consultations provided by the Advisory Council, numerous significant legal initiatives have been developed and registered on behalf of the Committee, including the legal initiative on the postponement of the conscription of the athletes to the military service, which is still under development. The activities also include the creation of a respective legal base, the measures undertaken in view of the improvement of the sports infrastructure etc.”, - she stated.
The Advisory Council, set up on the basis of the decision of the Committee of December 8, 2022, is composed of the representatives of the sports, education and culture spheres.
The Chair of the Committee, Irakli Medzmariashvili thanked the Council members for their activity and delivered the certificates on behalf of the Committee.
The certificate of appreciation of the Committee was as well delivered to the Georgian fencer, Sandro Bazadze for his contribution to sports.
