
Within the framework of the official visit to Turkey, Alexander Tabatadze, Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, and the delegation members, met with the Chair of the Defense Committee of the Parliament of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, and the Committee members.
The two counterparts emphasised the importance of bilateral cooperation in the defence sector and noted that the Turkish Armed Forces have been providing material-technical assistance to the Georgian Defence Forces for several years.
Mr Tabatadze expressed his gratitude to the hosts for this support. Georgian MPs touched upon multilateral cooperation aspects between the two countries; emphasis was placed on the security challenges and the importance of peace and stability for the long-term development and the prosperity of the region.
As noted, it is imperative to further enhance the strategic partnership and the regional security, which requires active high-level visits.
