The Interim Commission on Women and Children held an offsite meeting in Telavi
The Interim Commission on Women and Children, within the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, held an offsite meeting in Telavi. 
 
Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Commission and the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, the Commission members, Deputy Chairs of the Faction “Georgian Dream”, Rima Beradze and Irma Zavradashvili, as well as the First Deputy Chair of Telavi City Assembly, member of the Municipal Board of the Commission, Tinatin Khanjalashvili, addressed the attendees. 
 
Violence was identified as one of the acute challenges of modern society. The importance of timely identification of various forms of violence, a prompt response and preventive measures, as well as public awareness, was emphasised. 
 
The meeting was held at Telavi State University, which also included training for students, lecturers, and school and kindergarten pedagogues on “Domestic Violence and Online Violence against Women and Girls,” moderated by a representative of the Human Rights Department of the Interior Ministry. 
 
The participants were provided with information about the forms of violence, the state services and countering cyberviolence.
