The Committee discussed the Loan Agreement between KfW, Frankfurt am Main, and Georgia, represented by the Finance Ministry (Debtor) on Policy-based Loan for Transition to the Green Direction, Phase I, introduced by the First Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze.

According to him, Georgia cooperates with Germany and France since 2018 in the energy sector development sphere and in view of the development of the respective legal framework and the strategies. Sundry phases in this direction have already been accomplished. At present, Georgia, in view to gradually transit to the green direction, implying the pricing of energy and greenhouse gases, installment of the air quality monitoring system, facilitation of socially vulnerable families, and support for the renewable energy producers, KfW is allocating the loan of 100 ml EURO, which is provided in the document submitted for ratification.

The Committee approved the agreement.
