David Matikashvili Met with the Ambassador of Tajikistan

The Head of the Georgia–Tajikistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Davit Matikashvili, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan (resident in Baku), H.E. Ilkhom Abdurakhmon.
The parties discussed the existing relations between the two countries and emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy in deepening bilateral cooperation.
“We discussed expanding economic ties between Georgia and Tajikistan, including utilizing the existing potential in the field of tourism. We also considered the possibility of opening embassies in Tbilisi and Dushanbe. It was noted that launching direct air connections between the two countries would be important. The significance of exchange visits between the friendship groups was highlighted. We expressed readiness to host the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Tajikistan in Georgia”, - Davit Matikashvili stated following the meeting.
