The Open Governance Permanent Parliamentary Council discussed the models of Parliamentary engagement in the Open Government Partnership. The Secretary of the Council, Maia Khmaladze introduced three different models and dwelt on the approaches per model.

According to the Chair of the Council, Givi Mikanadze, detailed information on the models will be provided to the Council members and after the deliberations, the Council members are to make a decision within a year to opt for a model for further activity.

G. Mikanadze stressed the necessity of meetings with the rural population in view of public awareness of Parliamentary life. The Council members have already held two meetings in Mukhrani and Dusheti and intend to further meet the population.

The Council also discussed the directions and priorities of the Action Plan for 2023-2024. As G. Mikanadze underlined, members of the Council and the Advisory Group shall submit their positions and proposals as of November 24 inclusive providing all the activities of the Council for the said period.

The attendees got cognizant of the fulfillment of the commitments for 2021. As Mr. Mikanadze estimated, the dynamic is positive, though the commitments to be fulfilled remain. He called on the Council members to intensify their activity.

“We shall spend every spare minute till the end of the year to intensify the activities and fulfill the commitments. At the end of December, we shall provide better outcomes in the fulfillment of the commitments”, - he stated
