The Legal Issues Committee reviewed the Draft Administrative Offenses Code for the II reading

The Legal Issues Committee considered, in the II reading, and approved two draft laws on amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code.
According to the first legislative amendment, presented by MP Irakli Shatakishvili, sanctions for pollution of ambient air, soil, and water will be introduced in the respective municipalities, similarly to the regulations currently in force within the territory of the Tbilisi Municipality.
Pursuant to the draft law, the placement and/or sale of used tires, ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap, end-of-life vehicles and their parts, as well as easily flammable, explosive and/or dust-generating materials in locations not designated for such purposes by a municipal council decree shall result in a fine of GEL 2,500 for a natural person and GEL 5,000 for a legal entity.
At the same time, the placement and/or sale of used tires, ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap, end-of-life vehicles and their parts, as well as easily flammable, explosive or dust-generating materials in violation of the rules established by the relevant municipal council, even in locations designated for such purposes within the municipality, shall result in a fine of GEL 1,000 for a natural person and GEL 2,500 for a legal entity.
The second draft law on amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code was presented by the Deputy Economy and Sustainable Development Minister, Tamar Ioseliani.
According to the draft law, operating a vehicle without registration in the State Register of Inland Water Transport, without indicating the name and registration number of the vehicle, or with a suspended registration, shall result in a fine of GEL 500 for a natural person and GEL 1,000 for a legal entity. Repeated commission of the same offence shall result in a fine of GEL 1,000 for a natural person and GEL 2,000 for a legal entity.
Violation of navigation rules in inland waters shall result in a fine of GEL 500 for a natural person and GEL 1,000 for a legal entity. Repeated commission of this offence shall result in a fine of GEL 1,000 for a natural person and GEL 2,000 for a legal entity.
