Mariam Lashkhi and Davit Matikashvili Participated in an Event Dedicated to the Day of Family Purity Held at Tbilisi Public School No. 60

Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee Mariam Lashkhi and Chair of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee Davit Matikashvili participated in the event “Family Is the Foundation of the State and the Country,” dedicated to the Day of Family Purity and held at Tbilisi Public School No. 60.
Addressing the participants, Mariam Lashkhi stated that the Day of Family Purity is one of the main foundations of Georgia’s statehood and national identity.
“I am pleased that representatives of different generations are celebrating this day together. John Chrysostom said that ‘the family is a small church,’ and this is indeed true. The family unites the fundamental roots that later create a strong state. We have implemented important changes for this national self-awareness — in Parliament, we developed the National Goals of General Education, which define what our general education system should ensure. Alongside general education, it is equally important to raise responsible citizens with national and patriotic self-awareness”, - Mariam Lashkhi noted.
According to her, another significant development was the creation of a values-based education program through cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Georgian Patriarchate, which further strengthens and fosters values important for young people and future generations.
The members of Parliament also viewed an exhibition of drawings and handmade items on the theme of family created by students of Tbilisi Public School No. 60.
