Mariam Lashkhi Participated in the Closing Event of the Project “Me, Family, State”

The Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Mariam Lashkhi, participated in the closing event of the project “Me, Family, State”.
Addressing the participants, Mariam Lashkhi spoke about the existing challenges in the field of demography, as well as the initiatives already implemented and planned by the state.
“Family is the foundation of state development. Therefore, strengthening demographic policy is one of our top priorities. Upon the initiative of the Parliament’s Interim Commission on Women’s and Children’s Issues, a working group has been established to focus on improving the socio-economic conditions of families with children, developing effective support mechanisms, and refining state programs”, - she stated.
At the closing event, winners were awarded in four competitive nominations: Best Youth Essay, Best Artistic Work, Best Documentary Film, and Best Initiative addressed to the Government of Georgia, the Parliament, and local self-government bodies.
Universities that won within the framework of the project were also awarded.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to university representatives by Mariam Lashkhi.
The competition project lasted four months and involved 23 higher education institutions, colleges, youth centers, and several diaspora organizations.
More than 2,000 students attended public meetings held at universities, and 320 students participated in the competition.
It was noted that the first phase of the project, implemented with the participation of higher education institutions, has been completed.
The project will continue with the involvement of regional youth centers and diaspora organizations and will conclude on 17 May, Family Purity Day.
The event was attended by representatives of the legislative and executive branches, the academic community, diaspora organizations, public figures, and students.
The project was implemented within the framework of a grant competition of the Youth Agency of Georgia and co-financed by Tbilisi City Hall.
