Nikoloz Samkharadze Met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan

The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov.
The meeting was also attended by the chairs of the foreign relations committees of the Milli Majlis and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, as well as members of the delegations of Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the parties once again emphasized the great importance of the trilateral format of the foreign relations committees of Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan in further deepening the strategic partnership among the countries.
The sides discussed the existing relations between Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, as well as strategic projects, including oil and gas pipelines and railway initiatives.
One of the main topics of discussion was new and geopolitically significant projects aimed at connecting Central Asia and Europe via the South Caucasus.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of Azerbaijan spoke about the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process and related expectations.
The parties also discussed the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and reviewed ongoing developments in the Middle East, including processes surrounding Iran and the situation in Syria.
The delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, led by Nikoloz Samkharadze, is on an official visit to Baku.
The delegation includes First Deputy Chair of the Committee Irakli Shatakishvili, Committee Member and Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee Irakli Kadagishvili, and Committee Member Davit Dolidze.
