Parliament Elects Giorgi Gvarakidze as Prosecutor General

The Parliament of Georgia unanimously elected Giorgi Gvarakidze as the Prosecutor General with 83 votes in favour.
Prior to the vote held at the plenary session, Members of Parliament heard G. Gvarakidze during the Legal Affairs Committee sitting, where the candidate presented his vision for the further development of the Prosecutor's Office.
G. Gvarakidze was nominated by the Prosecutorial Council.
According to the Rules of Procedure, the Prosecutor General of Georgia is elected by a majority of the full composition of Parliament for a term of six years.
