The Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia, accompanied by other members of the Committee, visited the training center of the Special State Protection Service (SPS). During the visit, Anzor Chubinidze, the head of the service, provided the MPs with an overview of the center's ongoing infrastructural projects, and highlighted the innovative initiatives that have recently been implemented.

Mr. Chubinidze also spoke about the institutional strengthening of the Special State Protection Service, resulting from recent legislative changes, and expressed his gratitude to the legislators for their support of the SPS.

During the visit, the Committee members had the opportunity to tour the material and technical base of the training center, including the sports hall and stadium, as well as the museum of armored cars, which were intended for use by high-level guests and first persons of the state. Additionally, the MPs witnessed a demonstration training session featuring cynologists, personal protection, and a special purpose group.

In remembrance of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the fight for the territorial unity of Georgia, the MPs paid their respects by laying a wreath at their memorial and observing a moment of silence in their honor.

"The visit of the Defense and Security Committee to the training center, infrastructure, and material-technical base of the Special State Protection Service was an informative and eye-opening experience. The center boasts an impressive staff and is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, making it one of the most capable and exemplary organizations of its kind in the world.

The Special State Protection Service provides a full range of state protection functions and has an impeccable reputation both at home and abroad. The service is an active collaborator with relevant agencies of partner countries.

The Committee was highly impressed with the activity of the training center and commended the service for its excellent work. Moving forward, it is our priority to ensure that the service receives the maximum attention and support, with resources directed towards further improving the quality of its activities", - the Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Beraia stated.

The training programs of the SDS Center include the training of the personal security guards of the Prime Minister, the President, and other important persons, the training course for special purpose unit fighters, the training course for candidates to be enrolled in the contract service, educational-methodological and practical training for the heads of the service units, the management of motor vehicles in extreme situations.
