Giorgi Volski, Mariam Lashkhi, Zaza Lominadze and Varlam Liparteliani Addressed Kutaisi International Youth Forum

Members of the Parliament of Georgia delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the Kutaisi International Youth Forum.
Welcome remarks were delivered by the First Vice Speaker of Parliament Giorgi Volski, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee and Kutaisi Majoritarian MP Zaza Lominadze, and First Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee Varlam Liparteliani.
In their addresses, the Members of Parliament emphasized the importance of youth participation in decision-making processes and highlighted the need to integrate young people’s ideas and perspectives into policy development.
The issue of decentralization and regional empowerment was also underlined. It was noted that one of the key priorities of the education reform is the development of regions.
Discussions also covered digital transformation and related challenges. Particular attention was paid to engagement in the digital space, its opportunities and risks, including issues such as cyberbullying and online safety.
Kutaisi is hosting the International Youth Forum from 1 to 3 May, bringing together young participants from seven countries: Georgia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Greece, and Kazakhstan.
The forum is organized by Kutaisi City Hall and was opened at Kutaisi International University.
The international forum is held with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and aims to promote the exchange of experience in youth policy and to strengthen international cooperation.
On the first day of the forum, young participants presented educational programs and services.
Discussions were held on topics including youth participation in decision-making processes and mental health in the era of digital innovation.
The event was attended by representatives of the legislative, executive, and local authorities.
