Givi Mikanadze partaking in the opening ceremony of the International Scientific Conference of the Eastern European University

Mr. Givi Mikanadze, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the International Scientific Conference of the Eastern European University (EEU). The three-day conference, titled “Education: A Catalyst for Well-being,” was co-organized by the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement in the EEU.


Mr. Mikanadze, along with Mr. Alexander Tsuladze, the Education, Science and Youth Minister, and members of Parliament, also the Chair of the Academic and Steering Committee of the Conference, committee members, and representatives of international universities, addressed the attendees.


Kakhaber Lazarashvili, the Rector of the Eastern European University, opened the conference. Professor Josep Garrell, President of the European University Association (EUA), and David Townhill, International Director of the British Higher Education Academy (AdvanceHE), delivered their respective speeches.

The Conference seeks to examine the primary drivers of personal and public well-being in education. It will outline the role and priorities of universities, identify the well-being-related challenges, and propose solutions to address these challenges.

The Conference is supported by: EUA and AdvanceHE
