Parliament Bureau approved the current plenary week’s Agenda

Media and Society 11 May 2026
Parliament Bureau approved the current plenary week’s Agenda

The plenary sessions of the Parliament during the current session week will be held on 13 and 14 May. First Vice Speaker of Parliament Giorgi Volski informed Bureau members about the issues to be considered.

The plenary agenda includes the III reading of the Draft Defence Code. According to the amendments, the procedure for granting prior written consent for activities compatible with the status of a military servicemember is being clarified. The draft law also specifies organizational matters related to the registration of conscripts for military service and the process of calling them up for national military service.

The plenary agenda also includes draft laws to be considered in the I and II readings.

By decision of the Bureau, committees will begin consideration of new legislative initiatives, including the draft law on Higher Education.

According to the amendment, the transitional provision is being clarified so that students enrolled before 17 December 2025 will retain not only the funding already obtained during the transitional period (through the 2030–2031 academic year), but will also be given the opportunity to obtain and improve such funding.

The Bureau supported consideration of the draft law under an expedited procedure and designated the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee as the lead committee.

The Bureau also discussed organizational matters.
