The Parliament approved the Draft Resolution on the “Set-up of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission on the Activities of the Regime and the Officials of the Political Regime of 2003-2012” with 83 votes.

The Draft Resolution was introduced by MP Irakli Kirtskhalia. The document envisages the set-up of the Commission with a mandate of three months.

If the Commission fails to adhere to the established term, the validity shall be extended by no more than 6 months.

“This promise was included in our pre-electoral program and is the expectation of the majority of our population - the people who once again pledged to us the rules of the country as to a responsible team that is called “Georgian Dream”. I am confident that each of us acknowledges the significance of the outcomes of the hereof Commission for a healthy development of our country”, - he stated.
