The Budget and Finance Committee approves the amendment to the Tax Code

The Budget and Finance Committee discussed the Draft Tax Code for the I reading and in an expedited manner.

Pursuant to the Draft, the profit earned by the organizers of the slot salon and/or electronic gambling shall be taxed at 20% instead of the current 15%, and the dividends paid by the hereof entities shall no longer be subject to taxation.

The Draft was submitted to the Committee by one of the initiators, Irakli Kheladze.

According to him, the Draft ensures fair taxation and the competitiveness of the sector, as well as increased revenues to the budget. The Draft also modifies the excise rate on cigars, cigarillos, the products attributed to filtered and unfiltered cigarettes and inhalation without combustion.

“Tobacco is an extremely hazardous product causing diseases of various types and posing a threat to human health. And the minimization of the addiction and the number of smokers requires the introduction of the hereof amendments to the Code we introduce”, - he elucidated.
