The Budget and Finance Committee approved the draft Law on Tourism in the I Reading

The Budget and Finance Committee reviewed and approved, in the I reading, the draft Law on Tourism.

According to the presenter, MP Anton Obolashvili, the draft law stipulates that entities engaged in tourism activities will be subject to mandatory registration in the Administration’s database of tourism activity entities in order to ensure their registration and the transparency of data.

He also noted that registration in the Register of Economic Activities will remain voluntary.

As Anton Obolashvili stated, the bill also regulates issues related to the provision of risk-related services, including relevant terminology.

According to the draft law, regulations related to insolvency protection will enter into force on June 1, 2030, instead of June 1, 2027.

The presenter further explained that issues related to the provision of tourist guide services and risk-related services within the territory of Georgia by foreign citizens will be regulated by a decree of the Government of Georgia.

Under the proposed legislative amendments, the penalty provisions related to the enforcement of the law have also been redefined.
