Georgian Parliamentary Delegation Led by Nino Tsilosani held Meeting with the Parliamentary Secretary to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

As part of an official visit to Canada, a Georgian parliamentary delegation led by the Vice Speaker of Parliament, Nino Tsilosani, met with Robert Oliphant, Parliamentary Secretary to Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. The parties discussed the main priorities of the bilateral political and economic agenda.
During the meeting, the sides reviewed in detail the existing challenges, ongoing reforms in Georgia, the geopolitical situation in the region, and the country’s progress on its path toward European integration. The Canadian side once again reaffirmed its unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Particular attention was paid to strengthening economic ties between the two countries, expanding investment cooperation, and deepening the partnership. It was noted that Canada has significant investment potential, and that the Georgian side plans to take concrete steps to make Georgia an attractive destination for Canadian investment.
“The Canadian side clearly recognizes the challenges Georgia faces in today’s highly complex geopolitical environment. It also reaffirms its unwavering support for Georgia’s unity and sovereignty and expresses a strong desire to continue not only our political and parliamentary cooperation, but also our partnership in the fields of economic development and investment. Canada has substantial investment potential. We will take the necessary steps to attract Canadian investment to Georgia”, - said Nino Tsilosani.
The Georgian parliamentary delegation includes: Vice Speaker of Parliament and Head of the Georgia–Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group Nino Tsilosani; Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee Mariam Lashkhi; Chair of the Diaspora Committee Irakli Zarkua; Deputy Chair of the Committee Gocha Enukidze; Chair of the Sports Committee Viktor Sanikidze; and Deputy Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee Giorgi Khakhubia.
