The Foreign Relations Committee approved the Draft Law on Remuneration in Public Institutions

The Foreign Relations Committee deliberated for the I reading and approved the Draft Law on Remuneration in Public Institutions, introduced by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Khatuna Totladze.
The amendments regulate the Issues related to the remuneration of interns in the structural divisions of the Foreign Affairs Ministry abroad. As the reporter noted, the legal amendments are conditioned on the specification of the activity of the Ministry and its structures and the regulation of the intern remunerations abroad.
As per her elucidation, recently, the legal changes have been implemented, establishing various upgraded approaches, including the intern remuneration and internship terms. According to her, the internship and practical courses in the Ministry are regulated under the respective Decree of the Minister.
In addition, in view of maximal approximation with the national legislation, the norm has been modified, whereas the amount of the remuneration of the paid internship in the central staff of the Ministry shall be determined in an order established under the law, however, the hereof rule shall not apply to the internship abroad.
“Given the aforementioned aspect, the draft law has been developed, introducing an exceptional norm to the law. This allows the Ministry to regulate the internship and their remuneration issues abroad under the legal act of the Ministry”, - she reported.
