Chair of the Defence and Security Committee Aleksandre Tabatadze Congratulates Police Officers on Their Professional Day

Media and Society 31 May 2025
Chair of the Defence and Security Committee Aleksandre Tabatadze Congratulates Police Officers on Their Professional Day

"Today is Police Day, and I would like to congratulate our police officers — officers, rank-and-file, everyone who wears the police uniform with honour — on their professional holiday.
Our police officers safeguard public order, protect the country's borders, ensure peace and security along the occupation line, and guard strategically important infrastructure. The work of our firefighters and rescuers is equally vital and commendable.

The safety, peace, and stability of our country and its citizens rest upon the dedication and commitment of our police officers.

The Georgian police force is composed of professional and honourable staff. It is equipped with modern technologies, operates with well-developed infrastructure, and benefits from a solid legislative framework and analytical systems.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to each police officer for their service and dedication. I also thank each and every member of their families for their unwavering support.

On this occasion, I would like to honour and pay tribute to the memory of police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. I bow before them and their families.

I know how important it is to ensure decent working conditions and strong support for our police force. Therefore, on behalf of myself and the entire committee, I reaffirm our full support. I wish them continued success and stand firmly by their side.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the former Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Vakhtang Gomelauri, for his dedicated service, and to wish the new Minister, Mr Gela Geladze, much success in this highly responsible position", - Aleksandre Tabatadze concluded.
