Maia Bitadze Participated in the Award Ceremony for the Winners of the “Education for a Green Future 2026” Project
Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze, participated in the award ceremony for the winners of the “Education for a Green Future 2026” competition.

The “Education for a Green Future” project aims to support and encourage preschool and primary school educators who make a significant contribution to fostering environmental and agricultural awareness among children.

“Alongside parents, teachers play a particularly important role in shaping the environmental awareness of future generations. Today, when environmental protection, sustainable development, and global challenges have become an integral part of our daily lives, the importance of environmental education is growing even further. I would like to thank every teacher and education professional for their dedicated service to this important mission. On behalf of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, we express our readiness to continue actively supporting initiatives that promote environmental education, projects aimed at raising public awareness, and legislative changes that will contribute to the development of this field”, - Maia Bitadze stated.

As part of the 2026 competition, six winners were awarded certificates and special prizes.

It is noteworthy that within the framework of the project, approximately 4,000 preschool educators and 8,000 primary school teachers have been trained across the country.

The award ceremony was organized by the Environmental Information and Education Center and was attended by representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, municipalities, and donor organizations.
