The Parliament of Georgia will hear the Prime Minister’s annual report on the implementation of the Government Program during the last week of June. According to the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the exact date will be determined later at a meeting of the Parliamentary Bureau.
By decision of the Parliamentary Bureau, the consideration procedures for several new draft laws will begin in parliamentary committees. In particular, the Legal Issues Committee will review the draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Georgia on the Parliamentary Secretary.” The draft envisages the abolition of the position of Deputy Parliamentary Secretary of the Government of Georgia.
The Bureau also designated the Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committee as the lead committee for the draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Georgia on Enforcement Proceedings.” According to the draft law, monetary assistance paid from the State Budget of Georgia during periods of paid maternity leave and paid childcare leave, in amounts determined by the Government of Georgia, will be exempt from seizure and, consequently, will not be subject to enforcement proceedings.
